Growing Up in the 1980s With the Commodore 64 - A Reflectio
This story starts on Tuesday 25th May, 1976, a rankling sunny day, in a spring season that felt like a warmth wave amid a tropical summer. Here I was, as indicated by my extremely pregnant mother, playing a round of European Cup soccer in the solace of her womb. "He" or "She" will be a lively kid, most likely a soccer player.
Two more weeks to go... Not a day too early in these taking off temperatures. Not the perfect conditions to bear an exceptionally dynamic unborn newborn child.
Much to her dismay that her, effectively at that point, exceptionally curious child chose that the present day would have been the day to find greener fields. No specialist or taking off temperatures would stop my deep longing to begin investigating my new environment. Curiosity, a characteristic despite everything I have, needing to learn and see the opposite side of things.
Expert has little impact on me, continually needing to go to the base of things, demonstrating to myself that it is in reality right. This state of mind has gotten me after some time intriguing spots and went up against me with odd and interesting substances. It is shockingly not the easy lifestyle but rather then no one at any point said that life is a stroll in the recreation center!
So... In 1983 life turned out to be in a flash exceptionally fascinating...
The Commodore 64 arrived...
Simply envision your high school room loaded with companions and this glossy Commodore, similar to a lord, standing glad in the center.
Around this machine, fights were battled, fellowships were reinforced, a lot of feelings were shared and energizing circumstances constantly laid ahead.
This home PC was an as essential piece of my life similar to my family and companions. When I initially observed one, I knew this was it! Not knowing at that point however that the universe of swapping plates and amusements would turn out to be such huge business in my condition.
Your status was measured by what number of circles and the measure of mainstream recreations you had. The child with the new and exceptionally sought amusements was leader of our reality.
Many air pocket gum, A-group gaming cards and even BMX bicycles exchanged hands for these new, not all that new and even split amusements. Nothing made a difference more than being Knight Rider, the A-group and even ET for a minute.
Occasions were tied in with gaming, unlimited hours of doing combating it out around the Commodore 64.
To my companions and myself, a gaming occasion was worth as much as a Caribbean escape to our folks!
